Balanced, full-body program
At Artistic Body Development, we practice Myopatterning™, a Pilates-based system designed to increase strength and flexibility while reducing risk of injury. Our exercises incorporate resistance training, gentle aerobic activity, and stretching, developing major and minor muscle groups and placing an emphasis on proper body alignment.
Variety of skill levels and abilities
Myopatterning™ is adaptable; in a typical class, you will find a broad range of students: serious athletes, individuals overcoming injuries, and people with an interest in maintaining or improving overall fitness. Myopatterning™ is a non-competitive, highly individualized workout that respects the uniqueness of every body.
Myopatterning™ classes use machines built in the tradition of Joseph Pilates’ Universal Reformer. Though our machines may be intimidating at first, most students quickly adapt to using this series of springs, straps, and pulleys attached to a moveable bed. While instructors provide guidelines for resistance and repetitions, each machine allows its user to personalize the resistance and difficulty of each exercise.
Artistic Body Development also offers Floor Barre classes for students seeking a gentler workout with a focus on flexibility.
